EARLY WW1 BRITISH BSA CO. SMLE MK III .303 CAL. INFANTRY RIFLE DATED 1914. First Battle of the Marne as well as first year of World War One dated Lee-Enfield No.1 MKIII. Receiver stamped beneath bolt handle “CROWN/G.R./BSA CO./1914/SHTLE/III”. Battle used all original example numbered in the 22xx early serial range and all matching. Metal with old grey-brown patina mixed with some blue, surface rust and storage grime. Matching wood with the original worn finish. Working order and dark bore. In attic as found condition and will clean much better.
