Description:
This revolver was described by the elk hunter that found it that pinpoints the location of the find on the east  side of the Birch Creek Valley floor between Lone Pine, Idaho and Willow Creek. See photos for letter. This location is somewhere between 2 and 10 miles north of the site of the 1877 Birch Creek massacre of 5 teamsters and the burning of their wagons. This site is located west of Birch Creek, less than a mile a mile south of Lone Pine and about 92 miles south of Salmon City. One man, Albert E. Lyon, escaped by hiding in Birch Creek and its willows until dark, and then crossing the creek to its east side and beginning his long walk to Salmon City. This is detailed in several accounts that had to have come from Lyon hmself after he was found and returned to Salmon City. References are in photos. Did this revolver belong to Lyon? Nobody can be certain, but the circumstantial evidence points to that possibility. Not probability - just a possibility. No FFL required. Thanks for looking. USPS money order only, please. Buyer to pay shipping and insurance.
