This Winchester Model 70 was manufactured in 1946. It is marked ".30 Gov't '06", meaning that it fires .30-06 Springfield rounds. The butt pad is crumbling but is original. Blemishes on wood are surface level. The Model 70 has been known as "the Rifleman's Rifle" and was named the "Bolt-action Rifle of the Century" in 1999 by Shooting Times magazine. .30-06 Springfield
