Description:
General Specs: Parker, Year 1901, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 2oz., Chokes M/IM, LOP 14 1/8", DAH 2 15/16", DAC 1 5/8"
Serial Number: 102184

In the world of vintage American double shotguns, Parker Brothers reigns supreme.  The Parker name is synonymous with classic upland double guns.  The Parker Gun Collectors Association has done a great job fostering knowledge on these fine guns, which many believe to be America’s finest.  The GH Grade is the first level of Parker with game scene engraving with only 990 made in 20ga. with Parker Special Steel barrels, and only 3 on record with Damascus Steel barrels.  There are likely less than 800 GH 20ga. Parkers left on the planet and only a handful with fine Damascus barrels.  This fine Parker, sn102184 made in 1901, is a very nice example with lots of original factory condition showing about 55% factory case color, 85% Damascus pattern, excellent bores with no pitting, factory bore diameter and lots of wall thickness, weighing 6lbs. 2oz., having newly restored and nicely figured European walnut and excellent mechanics (VFI CERTIFIED, SEE BELOW).  THESE BARRELS ARE SOLID AND SAFE TO SHOOT WITH MODERATE FIELD LOADS WITH 7/8oz. shot at 1250 fps. or less.  The lettering and engraving is still strong, and the screws are all in superb condition and clocked properly along the axis of the gun.  The chambers and forcing cones have been lengthened to 2 ¾” with 1 ½” taper to the forcing cones (a $360 service here in our shop), making for a softer shooting, better patterning upland gun.  The barrels have tight ribs and fit tight as new on the hinge pin and breech face with the top lever well right of center.  The triggers are crisp and break clean at about 4.25lbs. of pull.  The original factory wood has gorgeous feather crotch figure with a hand-rubbed oil finish.  We stripped the action and forend iron to the smallest part, cleaned the parts in the Ultrasonic cleaner, inspected all for function and integrity, lubricated and reassembled the gun.  This is what we call a VFI CERTIFIED GUN and we have a 90-day mechanical warranty on all such guns we sell.  It is hard to find a vintage American double gun 119 years old with lots of original factory condition.  IF YOU WANT TO DRESS THIS GUN UP, CONSIDER A FINE LEATHER COVERED PAD SET TO YOUR LOP.  WE DO THAT HERE IN OUR SHOP AND CAN ADD THAT AND HAVE THE GUN READY TO SHIP WITHIN 10 DAYS OF PURCHASE.  What a gorgeous investment quality Parker for your upcoming bird season and just in time for you to enjoy at your favorite gun club for some clay targets to warm you up for the season.  Priced to sell, so don’t hesitate or she will be gone.  Thanks for looking!
