EXCELLENT PRE-WAR .38 MILITARY & POLICE MODEL OF 1905, 4TH CHANGE, .38 SPECIAL, 4" BARREL, #460XXX, MADE C. 1923-1924. This is a really great early example that appears to have never been used to any degree. It retains about all the deep S&W blue with only a touch of muzzle wear and minimal edge wear. The cylinder retains all the blue on the front face indicating that it was shot very minimally if at all. Matching numbers including the grips were are excellent with one tiny chip on the right top forward edge that you have to look for to find. Excellent sharp markings, bright case color on the hammer and trigger. Untouched screws, tight action, minty bore and only a hint of a cylinder drag line! Incredible hand fitted and built quality from nearly a hundred years ago.
