This Winchester M-1 Carbine, Cal .30, was mfg abt 1/44. It has all of the correct component parts for this period of production. The guns bluing
is a medium gray parkerizing w/a very slight olive tone. It is a seceond bloc of the production run. Winchester was the 2nd leading manufacturer
of Carbines. They had, in my opinion, the smoothest and lowest quality control issues of all of the 10 producers of the WW II Carbines. It is to me no
small wonder that they are the most sought after of all of the M-1 Carbines produced during the War. The buttstock and forearm combination and
hand guard are matching high quality Walnut w/the distinctive flat bottom. (I use R. C. Larsen's 2nd Edition, Craig Riesch 4th & 7th Edition & Harrrison's
Publications for my references.)

Receiver - Narrow Tang,Drilled receivers, square mill cut, 2 dismount notches, T3 retainging lug, internal spring housing, Rear Sight -T2 Milled Adust-
able W/"H" filled heart, Barrel - 1 piece w/"w' proof marked barrel w/short shield, Front Sight - T1 Milled w/slope & Thumbnall, Bolt - T2 Flat w/ T2 Marked "W" Extractor & Firing Pin, Trig Hsg - T3 w/"w", Trigger - T2 w/"w", Sear - T2 w/"w', Hammer, T3 - Straight w/"w", Safety - T1 UM, Mag Catch - T3 w/"w',
Oper Slide - T4 w/"w" (In Well), Stock - T3 Low Wood w/Cross Cannons & No Square Box w/Initials "w" in sling well, Flat Bottom, Hand Guard - T2 w/2 Holes
& "w" on the underside, Recoil Plate - T2 w/"w", Barrel Band - T2 UM. (THE SLING, OILER, MAGIZINE W/DUST COVER are for presentation only & not
included.). This Winchester would make a fine addition for the discerning collector.
