Description:
This is an outstanding Winchester Model 1873 manufactured in 1882 as a third model with integral dust cover rail and dust cover with serrated rear edge. Dovetail blade and elevation adjustable sights on a barrel stamped with the two-line address/patent dates marking and "38-CAL." The cartridge elevator is marked "38 CAL," and free from dings and dents. The upper tang has the model marking. The smooth straight grip stock is fitted with a trapdoor buttplate. This rifle is an Antique and can in most cases be sent to your home. Please check your local and state regulations. .38-40 WCF

Metal Condition: "Retaining 80% +/- original blue finish with thin brown patina on the balance. There is a small patch of cleaned pitting on the barrel. 60% +/- original blue finish remains on the loading gate. Case colors remain on the hammer, lever and buttplate.&q
Wood Condition: The wood is fine with numerous minor handling/storage marks and flaking/crazing of the varnish.
Bore Condition: Bright and shiny with the rifling getting little thin.
Barrels: 24 inch round blue with factory sights.
Triggers: Single.
Stock Dimensions:
12 5/8 inch LOP.
Fore End: Nice straight grain walnut with very strong finish and a steel cap.
Butt Pad: Crescent steel with strong case color and a trapdoor.
