This is an excellent original example of a desirable early-production DWM Model 1900 Commercial Luger pistol. These pistols were the true first commercial contract Luger pistols produced by DWM and can be found in the 2000 to about 19000 serial number range. This pistol has desirable early features such as the "Crown B U G" proofs, dished toggles with toggle lock on the right side, recessed breechblock, 4 3/4 inch fast tapered barrel, grip safety and no stock lug. It is all matching and has retained about 95% of its original bluing. There is wear around the muzzle, on the side plate, and the high edges of the frame. There is spotty wear on the front strap. There is some spotty oxidation on the barrel. The rifling is somewhat worn and there is pitting in the bore throughout. It comes with excellent grips and an un-numbered period-correct magazine.
