Description:
Winchester pre 64 model 70 standard rifle built in 1947. It appears that this rifle has been sitting in a safe or gun cabinet since then. It has a 24" barrel chambered for 30-06 with a mint bore. The rifle retains 100% of the original blue finish and 100% of the original wood finish. It has the clover leaf tang and the transition safety. A Jostam no shok pad has been added to the stock. There is a 135/8" LOP over the pad. It appears that the pad was put on the gun when it was purchased. The pad is perfectly fitted and if you will look at the photos you will see that the pad is slightly dented from sitting upright in a safe or cabinet for many years. The rifle has a Lyman Alaskan 2X scope installed with Redfield Jr. 7/8" rings and a Redfield one piece base. This is a complete outfit that was state of the art in the 1940s. A collector condition model 70 that would also be a great deer rifle. All you would need is this rifle,a red and black checked mackinaw,an Elmer Fudd cap, and high leather boots to take a trip back in time. C&R eligible.
