The Colt Service Model Ace Pistol was designed to maintain the external, base features of the legendary 1911, while making internal adjustments in order to chamber the smaller .22 lr round. The Ace Model allows for one to enjoy the traditional feel, sight picture and functionality of the 1911 without dealing with the unneccesary recoil and costliness of the .45 round. The left-side of the blued barrel reads " Colt Service Model Ace .22 Long Rifle", while the right-side is simply marked "Ace". The checkered grips house golden Colt Medallions, and correspond with the blued barrel beautifully. The Ace is a rare version of Colt's iconic 1911 series, making this a valuable addition to any collection.
