Description:
"

Very fine flint lock coach gun by L. Egg. The first initial is not visible on lock but the Egg is clearly visible. Roller frizzen dates it to approximately 1810-1820. Barrel length is 14.5"" to front of breech plug. Overall length is 31"". The outside diameter of the flared muzzle is 2"". This is a very well made gun, if not over built. The barrel is double keyed to the stock. Barrel and breech plug have proper London black powder final view proofs. Stock has skip line checkering with accents of crosses in the checkering. The trigger guard bow is engraved with an elongated diamond. The trigger guard finial is a traditional engraved pineapple. The butt plate is very good and the butt plate tang extends 3"" over the comb of the stock. The action works perfectly. The rear 5"" of the barrel are hexagonal transitioning to round 11"" to the muzzle. This is a substantial coach gun!
