Here we present a Special Order Winchester Model 1894 Lever Action Rifle in 38-55 WCF with a Pistol Grip Stock and Half-Length Magazine, made in 1913 in New Haven, Connecticut. Chuck Hawks refers to the venerable and capable .38-55 WCF as the “gentle medium bore” cartridge, due to its power and mild recoil. This was the largest cartridge available in the Model 1894.
The overall condition is fine. Original blue finish. The action is excellent. Smooth and solid walnut stock with the pistol grip and Winchester medallion on the bottom. The bore is bright with nice rifling. A fantastic and scarce example with this feature set in the “gentle medium bore” .38-55!
