Winchester Model 1873 in .44-40
Third generation model 73 built in 1886 with rare set trigger sn. 217786B with 24” octagon barrel. This gun has been well used and I am sure it would have some interesting stories to tell.  Not much of the original finish remains on the metal and the stock has several scratches and dents, small chips and missing pieces (see forearm) but the guns still functions and shoots.  The bore is fair with light frosting with average rifling remaining except at the tip of the barrel. The mainspring was replaced in order to make the gun functional. The spring was ordered from Homestead Gun parts.  We also replaced the missing mid sight elevator and a couple of incorrect screws.  The head of the adjustment screw for the set trigger is broken off, but the set trigger works nicely.  Gun was fully dissassembled, throughly cleaned and function checked.  Shot an OK group at 25 yards with vintage ammo. This gun is being sold for an estate.  Buyer pays shipping and insurance.  The three-day inspection period applies. Ships to your FFL or C&R.   We cannot do sales to an individual.
Reduced to $1250 OBO. More Photos on request,
