Antique James Purdey & Sons 250 count cartridge magazine. Oak framed case with leather outer. The leather shows wear and some discoloration from age but is in flexible and solid condition. All the stitching is sound. There is no key for the lock which looks to work fine. This has been relined in quality felt at some point and looks to have had the original leather pre WWII label attached. All of the dividers are removeable and very snug. The pigskin lifter straps are replacements and look to have been hardly used. Overall this magazine is in very good condition and is still useable today for your vintagers shoot or for an afternoon of Grouse shooting.
