Description:
Some 99 expertes belive the G to be the most handsome of all the many 99 iternations. This a fine un fiddled with example of an earely 99G Take Down, It is characterized by the 22 " fully threaded barrel with the front site base integra with the barrel. This is the lined not checkered trigger version and likley made in the late 1920's or early 30's. All (original) blued surfaces are at or over 85% with littls sign of use or wear or havin been carried.. The butt stock has uncommonly nice fiddle back grain figure. The forend has a previous repair on the rite side may be seen in pics but both butt stock and forend retain almost all of the origina finish. There is a small divit near the toe of the stock there is a dark spot by the upper tang it is NOT the often found split but what appears to be a darkened small area perhap from gun oil leaching into this small area. There are no non factory holes in either wood or metal.
If you have been holding out for a really nice 99 take down in the classic 250 Savage Cal otherwise known as 250-3000 as this was the lst cal to reach 3000 fps this might be the one you have been waiting for.
