Description:
Bill Bagwell "River Styx/Satan Lace" composite 10" Damascus-bladed combat/defensive Bowie made in 1983 in DeFuniak Springs, Florida. Double oblong brass guard, India Sambar stag antler handle. This is a fast, strong, quick-in-the hand Bowie knife as only Bill could do. The knife bears a full distal taper and is approximately a bit over 1/4-inch in thickness at the guard and about 1/8 at about 9" to the tip. Blade width is 1-3/8-inch.. This makes a tremendous diffrence on how a knife handles. Very few knives today have a distal taper. This may be due in part, to its only being readily incorporated during the forging process. Blade is stamped MS for Master Smith in the center while BAGWELL and DAMASCUS can be seen in an half-arch pattern which makes for a scarcity in today's marketplace. Original leather scabbard.
