Description:
From a mid-west sale, a very nice half stock heavy barrel target rifle 50 caliber Percussion Rifle. The wood is very nice, appears to be tiger strip maple stained very dark and has aged to a uniform color with no chips, cracks or major dents or dings (see photos). The stock, as a target rifle, there is no provision for a ram rod. Iron trigger guard, crescent butt plate and two sets of wedge pin escusions all plumb brown. The barrel and lock finish is a plumb brown patina with some oxidation (see photos). The gun is 48" over all length with a unmarked, 32" octagon heavy target barrel 1 1/16" across the flats(What I can see of the bore looks good....I have not cleaned this gun). There is a modern, windage and elevation adjustable, rear sight and a front blade sight (see photos). The trigger and lock function as they should. The unmarked lock is very robust with a strong hammer spring and has a half cock. The triggers are highly adjustable and are crisp (see photos). The butt plate and trigger guard are nicely fitted (see photos). This is a very well made target rifle, made with quality components and weighs over 12 pounds. This rifle has a new nipple and is ready for the target range.
