"Nagoya Type 97 6.5 Japanese caliber rifle. Scarce Japanese WWII sniper rifle, made in 1937. Key features are: Type 97 marking on top of receiver, scope base on left-side of receiver, serial number and manufacturers mark moved to front of receiver so they are visible, modified stock to accommodate scope (not included) and base. Metal has approximately 90% blue. Wood is fine with added finish, no cracks or chips. Action functions correctly. Bolt is from a Type 38 rifle and mum is ground, as most were. Missing cleaning rod. This series I Type 97 were made by the Nagoya arsenal. Fewer than 23,000 Type 97 sniper rifles were manufactured and most were lost during WWII. Good ones are hard to find. Here’s your chance to add a Type 97 to your collection for a very reasonable price.
