Description:
This 4" Inch Colt Trooper Mark 3 in .357 Magnum is a beautiful all-original gun manufactured in 1972 and factory-fitted with a target hammer, trigger, and stocks.  It comes complete with it's original box with the factory serial-numbered end-label intact and with the factory display advertisement box insert.  The Colt Trooper Mk.III was introduced in 1969 as an improved version of the original Trooper revolver offered from 1953 to 1969.  The Trooper Mk.III was offered in .22 LR, .22 Magnum, .357 Magnum, and .38 Special and 3 barrel lengths of 4", 6", or 8" inches.  This DA/SA revolver featured a solid rib barrel design, a 6-shot fluted cylinder, adjustable target style sights, checkered Walnut target grips, a blued or nickel-plated finish, and a redesigned lock work that reduced the amount of hand-fitting required during manufacturing.  The Trooper Mark 3 remained in production for 14 years until being discontinued in 1983 with the introduction of the Trooper Mark 5.  The Trooper Mark 3 proved to be a very reliable, accurate, and durable revolver, used by both police forces and civilians alike all over the United States.  This particular example has a 4" inch barrel and is chambered in .357 Magnum.  It is in superb all-original condition, with the beautiful high-polish gloss blue factory finish rating 98%.  The 2% deduction comes from some minor finish wear on the face of the cylinder, as the rest of the factory finish on the gun is pristine and flat-mint. The factory case-colored hammer is perfect, with zero finish wear or fading.  The colors are bright and vivid on all sides of the hammer, even in the unprotected areas.  The bore in this Colt is perfect and mirror-bright, free from any pitting, erosion, or imperfections of any kind.  The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp lands and grooves from the forcing cone to the crown of the muzzle.  The six chambers of the cylinder are equally as pristine and free from imperfections.  All of the factory stampings are crisp, clean, and deep, there are no light strikes or partial markings on this gun.  The factory checkered Walnut "target" grips on this Colt are like-new and beautiful, free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear.  The checkering is still crisp and clean, and there is no soiling or oil stains in the grooves.  The silver Rampant Colt medallions are perfect on both grips, and the grip panels are a perfect match to each other in every way.  The target grips on this Colt are perfectly fit to the gun and tight to the grip frame, free from any play or wiggle.  The action on this Trooper is extremely smooth and slick.  It is in perfect time whether it is worked in single or double-action, as fast as you can or as slow as possible.  This action really has to be felt in-person to truly appreciate how light and smooth it is from the factory.  Despite all of our technical advancements today the feeling of a perfectly hand-fit action cannot be replicated by machines.  All of the controls on this Trooper are in perfect working order, and the trigger is excellent no matter how it is operated.  The internals of this revolver are just as pristine and free from mechanical wear as the exterior.  It is obvious that this Colt has not even begun to be "broken in" yet and still has 99% of it's service life still in it.  If it has had more than one cylinder fired thru it since leaving the factory we would be very surprised.  This Trooper will function 100% just as well today as the day it left the factory 49 years ago.  As mentioned before, this Colt Trooper Mk.3 comes with it's original box in excellent condition, as well as the display advertisement box insert provided by the factory, also in excellent condition.  If you have been looking for a truly exceptional example of a .357 Magnum Colt Trooper Mk.3 for your collection, this 1972-production gun would be an excellent choice.  It would be extremely hard to upgrade from this Colt Trooper Mk.3 in ANY respect.
