This is a very cool Smith & Wesson Performance Center Model 327 M&P R8 .357 Magnum revolver in minty, factory test-fired only condition with everything it shipped from the factory with. Bought new by the original owner, this Smith was put into storage until now, never once carried or fired since leaving the factory. The S&W Performance Center Model 327 M&P R8 revolver is a top-of-the-line DA/SA 8-shot revolver with a lightweight Scandium-alloy frame chambered in .357 Magnum that was first introduced in 2007. This highly-refined combat-style revolver features a factory matte-black finish, a Stainless steel 8-shot fluted cylinder factory-cut for moon clips, a 5" stainless steel barrel with an aluminum alloy shroud that is factory drilled and tapped for a scope mount, a extremely strong but lightweight Scandium alloy frame, a Performance Center tuned action, a Performance Center tuned trigger with a factory-installed trigger stop, an adjustable V-notch rear sight, an interchangeable front sight blade with a white dot, and a factory Hogue 1-piece finger groove and textured black rubber grip with molded-in S&W logos on either side. This high-performance revolver weighs in at only 35.8 ounces unloaded and comes from the factory with an integral internal lock, 3 full-moon clips, and a factory picatinny rail scope mount made especially for this model. The S&W M327 MPR8 revolver quickly earned a reputation for extreme accuracy, reliability, and excellent build quality. This model continues to be sought-after by competitive shooters, hunters, collectors, and hobbyists alike, and the supply has never kept up with demand for this revolver. As mentioned earlier, this particular example is brand-new for all intents and purposes. It has been factory test-fired only, as you can see that only ever-other cylinder has been fired as-is the practice at S&W's Performance Center. The factory matte black finish rates 99.5%, with the only deduction coming from the very faint drag-line barely visible around the cylinder. This drag-line consists of a thin glossy line from the bolt making contact with the cylinder and "polishing" the matte off of the black finish as the action is worked, it is not actually worn into the finish. This is inevitable on these revolvers and is present on all of them to various degrees right from the factory. This drag-line is only visible at certain angles, I did the best I could to make it show in the pictures provided for the listing. The remainder of the factory finish is perfect, free from any visible wear, handling marks, defects, or damage of any kind. The case-hardened finish on the hammer and trigger on this Smith rates 100% and is like-new. Both the hammer and trigger show some nice color and contrast and both parts are free from any wear or damage. The bore in this Model 327 M&P R8 is mirror-bright and perfect in every way. The rifling still looks brand-new with sharp edges on the lands and grooves and it is free from any visible imperfections of any kind. The eight chambers of the cylinder are equally as pristine as the barrel. The factory 1-piece rubber grip on this revolver is in like-new condition as well, free from any visible wear, tears, chunking, or repairs. All of the texture is still like-new and the molded-in S&W medallions are sharp and perfect. The action on this Performance Center tuned revolver has to be felt in person to truly be appreciated. This is the closest thing made today to the hand-fit and hand-tuned actions of the vintage Smith & Wesson revolvers from decades ago. The action is very smooth, linear-feeling, and precise, and it is in perfect time no matter how it is operated. The trigger breaks cleanly with nice light pull in single-action operation, and in double-action operation the trigger can be "staged" with a little practice and finger-control for excellent accuracy. All of the controls on this Smith are like-new and in 100% perfect working order, including the rear sight windage and elevation adjustments. This Performance Center Model 327 R8 still has every bit of it's service life intact and should function just as well today as the day it left the factory. It has not even begun to be "broken in" yet and we would imagine that they action and trigger pull will even improve as the round count increases on this beauty. As mentioned before, this S&W comes with everything it left the factory with, all of which is in like-new, perfect condition. The box still has the original serial-numbered factory end-label intact, and the full moon clips, scope mount, integral lock keys, and factory cable lock have never been out of the bags they came in. The owner's manual, factory warranty card (still blank), NRA membership card, the anti-rust S&W logo shipping paper, and California Firearms Warning card are all in perfect shape. If you have been looking for one of these hard-to-find Performance Center Model 327 R8 .357 Magnum revolvers here is your chance to get one in perfect like-new condition inside and out for a great price! It would be all but impossible to upgrade from this example in any respect, and we have NO DOUBT that this low-production Performance Center model will prove to be an excellent long-term investment.
