Description:
Smith carbine has traces of original blue showing through the 21-1/2 inch barrel. Decent bore. Original sights include a blade front and a flip-up ladder rear. Receiver is spotty and mostly a silver/gray patina. Crisp markings. Saddle ring and bar are missing. Forearm wood looks good. Stock has a sharp cartouche and a crack at the wrist and a piece of wood missing where it meets the frame. Action is a slight bit loose. This carbine would display well on the wall with the right side showing. a good example piece from the Civil War.
