Sharps .22 Caliber Model 1 Four Shot Pepperbox Pistol. Made from 1859-1874. Serial number is 21XXX and falls into the type type C range. NRA Antique Very Good Overall. Nice uncleaned brass frame has turned to a mustard hue and shows minute traces of darkened original silver plating in protected areas around screw holes, the breech, and base of grips Barrels are mostly a dark grey patina with 25% original blue in the flutes. Wooden grips are in Good Plus Condition with nice fit to the metal, no cracks..one tiny chip off the rear corner of the right panel...otherwise perfect. Both sides of the frame have the circular C SHARPS 1859 marking around the hammer screw which must have been stamped very lightly as most of the ones we've had over the years are also very light which seems to have very little to do with wear and conditiion. Bores all have decent rifling with typical scattered light pits...Fair Plus Overall and may clean to Good. Action works with the rotating firing pin visiting each one of the 4 chambers when cocked.
