This is a real "time capsule" piece, a 1991-production Marlin Original Golden 39AS .22 caliber lever-action rifle that is flat-mint with the original box and all of the inserts. This Marlin Original Golden 39AS rifle was bought new by the original owner and put into storage, never once fired or carried afield or to the range. The Marlin Golden 39AS is one of the all-time classic American rimfire rifles, sought-after by both collectors and shooters alike. This model has been the top-of-the-line lever-action rimfire rifle for the Marlin firm for many decades, and the accuracy, reliability, and build-quality has always been the very best. This particular example is serial number 09255574 and is as perfect as they come. The factory gloss blue finish is bright, beautiful, and pristine, rating 99% plus with no wear or marring. The "Micro-Groove" bore is mirror-bright and pristine, with perfect rifling and zero imperfections or wear. The factory smooth American Walnut stock set is in like-new condition as well, with both the forearm and buttstock free from any cracks, chips, repairs, or visible wear. All of the stock hardware is intact and pristine including the black pistol grip cap with a white spacer and the factory installed Marlin-branded brown recoil pad. The action on this Original Golden 39AS is still tight but smooth, and the bolt and lever locks up into battery perfectly. All of the controls on this Marlin are in like-new, perfect working order. As you can imagine, the internals in this rifle are just as pristine as the exterior with ZERO wear. This Marlin looks like it left the factory 2 days ago rather than 30 years ago. We even had to carefully remove the owner's manual / warranty card that was still hanging on the lever to take these pictures (we have since reattached it)!
