Description:
An authentic European Jaeger flintlock rifle converted to percussion, probably during its period of use. The lock plate is unmarked, but is probably of German origins. The rifle is brass mounted, with a walnut stock and horn endcap, at the muzzle. The octagonal barrel is swamped with very deep rifling. The barrel also has an unknown proof mark at its breech. The rear barrel sight is very ornate and very much a work of art. Caliber: Approximately .80 percussion
Overall Length: 40.4"
Barrel Length: 24.7"
Barrel Diameter at Muzzle: 1.24"
Condition: Iron parts were probably cleaned, years ago, and have now aged to a grey/brown color, with some scattered pitting – Brass mounts have a nice mellow mustard color patina – Stock has much finish with some cracks and small losses, but is solid and stable – Action works fine – Bore has some roughness
