This Jesse Kaufmann Custom Pre-64 Model 70 30-06 has been completely built by Jesse Kaufmann, including all metal work and woodwork. Jesse Kaufman worked for 11 years as Master Stocker for Dakota arms completing 1637 stocks while there. Kaufmann is a Master Engraver trained under two world-renowned Masters. Check his and available info on the internet for his credentials, which are many. Kaufmann worked as Master Engraver for Remington’s Custom Shop for years. A close look at the engraving on this fine CUSTOM WINCHESTER will define his talent to a trained eye. This rifle has all the bells and whistles and is an incredible work of art. I get to handle some of the finest sporting arms in the world and have developed a critical eye for extraordinary work, and Jesse Kaufmann hit a home run with this rifle. Stocked in highly figured Bastogne Walnut with perfect stock inletting, double cross bolts, pillar bedding, pancake cheek piece with shadow line, finely cut checkering with wrap around pattern, inletted sling swivel studs, and a custom Safari Drop Box magazine allowing for 6 rounds of .30-06 ammo, what more could you ask for? The barrel and action are 1950 vintage Winchester Model 70 with controlled round feed and a perfect bore and rifling. The barrel has traditional rust blue with no wear or signs of use, and factory iron sights. The action and floor plate have been carbona blued, the extractor and all screws have been niter blued; and the bolt shroud, steel grip cap, sling swivel studs, and Talley bases and rings have all been bone and charcoal case colored. The metal finishes are gorgeous and done to perfection. The action, floor plate, grip cap, screws, and Talley rings and bases are all elaborately engraved with highly detailed fine English scroll. The bolt handle has 3 panel checkering for positive purchase. The grip cap itself is a work of art with the extravagant colors and elegant engraving. Of course, Jesse Kaufmann’s experience at Dakota Arms has taught him that the only rifles worth putting your name on are accurate rifles, as Dakota rifles carry that reputation, so you can bet this rifle is accurate! The rifle is presently scoped with a superb Swarovski Z6, 2.5-15 x 50 scope that has a range adjustable turret, a wide field of view, incredible light gathering capabilities, and the ability to zoom right in at 15x power…all that you will ever need on a .30-06 rifle. This is a $2000 scope and worthy to be on this fine rifle. That said, if you prefer the rifle without the scope then let’s talk. The price for this incredible custom rifle includes the scope and is thousands of dollars less than the cost of the rifle when it first sold. It would cost thousands of dollars more and years to receive if you were to have a Kaufmann rifle built to your specs.
