Description: Midas Superposed Superlight “FN” - 28ga - ca. 1972 - ALL OPTION - Ernst Engraved - Three Piece Forend - High Grade Beaded Checkering - 14 1/4 x 1 3/8 x 2 1/8 - 6.4 lbs - SN: 069F72 - **I have reached out to FN to find documentation on this gun - At this time, I have no positive way of identifying the gun or representing the gun as a "all factory" product or as a "Ernst Upgrade" - Ernst did some upgrades during this time... with that said - this gun is remarkable in craftsmanship both aesthetically and mechanically - further, to me, appears to be one of the finest guns I've ever had the pleasure of consigning for a classy and well appointed collector. In the hands, this gun is a "fine high grade shotgun" no matter how it materialized. Based on the serial number, it lies within the era of when a gun like this could/would have emerged from FN in this configuration. This is great fun - I'm hoping to learn more from anyone that may have credible data one way or the other. Thank you for your attention to this matter of full disclosure. I have inquired with FN about the gun and have yet to hear a reply - fret not, this is a fine shotgun regardless of the answer. Extremely rare "special ordered" Midas 28 ga. Superlight made by FN in a European Style, Full Option Gun with checkered wood butt, three-piece forend and rubbed oil finish, hand matted rib, engraved by L. Ernst, darker heavily figured wood with fine line checkering, straight stock and blued trigger. Three gold ducks on left side, three gold pheasants on right, single gold quail on bottom of receiver and single gold woodcock on trigger guard. Chokes marked F/M. Gun has been hunted with some use evident on buttstock. Bluing and gold figures are in excellent condition.
