Description:
Serial #78005, .32 RF, 3 1/2" barrel with a fair, pitted bore. The metal surfaces retain about 85-90% of the original nickel plate finish that has flaked on the rear of the cylinder, and also has scattered areas of dark freckling. The trigger and hammer have a dull brown patina with a few traces of original color case-hardening still visible. The smooth factory rosewood grips are numbered to the gun and rate excellent with only a few minor handling marks. The barrel is assembly numbered to the gun (#UO), and the replacement cylinder has a different assembly number with several ampersands next to it (indicative of factory replacement). The barrel pock-up is good, but has a hint of lateral play, and the action is fully functional. The sideplate is stamped "POLICE DEPT. / ST. JOHN.N.B. / No. 11". Included with the gun is a period flap holster that has minor surface scuffs, as well as a partially split seam at the tip. This is a great find for a police, or S&W collector, and rates very good overall. Antique
