C&R Single Action Army Style Revolver!
Here we present a Copy of a Colt Single Action Army Revolver in .44 caliber. This revolver has a black powder type frame and no hint of who may have made it. It was likely a very rudimentary shop that did not specialize in building guns. We believe that this was made to be a shooter and based directly off the original. It would not surprise that this came from South of the Border. This one has the look of having been there and done that.
The action functions properly and remains tight. The hammer does have a half-cock notch and the cylinder does index and lock up quite well. The bore is in good shape with some thin rifling remaining. Both grips have a little bit of movement on the frame. The frame says it is .44 caliber. It will chamber a .44-40. HOWEVER, given the dubious manufacture (ie. not Colt) we do not recommend firing this piece. It will, however, make a great and affordable place holder for the collector or for the collector who collects Colt copies.
