Description:
Nice Fayetteville rifle with .58 caliber rifled bore not smooth like many other rifles. Basically smooth metal with some minor pitting around bolster with partial barrel markings. VP and eaglehead stamped upside down
typical of Confederates. Bayonet lug with top missing or broken off. Old ramrod has been with this rifle forever even though not a Fayetteville production. Brass mountings with iron nose cap. CSA stamped on buttplate.
Has PB inspection markings opposite lockplate which is correct for an early Fayetteville rifle. Far better than average rifle with nice wood and metal.
