Description:
Scarce W.W.Greener Grade (G)-70 Imperial grade 12 gauge shotgun built on the Facile Princeps action with Unique ejector system patented in 1892 by Greener, which was an improved design over the old Self-Acting ejector used from early 1880's. This gun is in excellent original condition; tight, on face with clean breech faces and invisible Greener crossbolt. It has 30" Greener Wrought steel barrels w/ VG bores, 99% blue, 2 1/2" chambers, auto Greener side safety, factory horn butt with heel spur and weighs 6 lbs. 10 ozs. Bore diameter and thickness at 9" from breech are as follows; Right .731/ .050 Left .736/ .048. Wall thickness ahead of chambers is 0.120 / 0.120. All metal is very clean with traces of case color and beautiful sharp game scene and scroll engraving with the carved shells on the frame balls found on this grade. This shell motif was discontinued a few years after this gun was built in 1897. Wood is clean with no cracks or splits, highly figured with horn insets at wrist and forend tip. Forend fits tightly as new. All in all, a beautiful, clean shootable High grade G70 that functions perfectly. Ejectors are strong and timed.European type sling swivels were added long ago, possibly by Greener for a European customer, but do not detract. No FFL needed; Antique, can be shipped direct.
