sale pending graham h - 5-14-21 - 7 day hold-THIS ANTIQUE LEVER OPERATED SHOTGUN IS A BANNERMAN CONVERSION OF A CIVIL WAR GALLAGER CARBINE MADE BY RICHARDSON & OVERMAN. ABOUT 5,000 WERE CHAMBERED FOR 56-52 SPENCER WITH A FIRING PIN HAMMER NOT A PERCUSSION LOCK HAMMER. IT IS MOST LIKELY A BANNERMANS CONVERSION POST CIVIL WAR AS THEIR 1889 CATALOG SHOWS IT FOR SALE WITH THE CONVERSION  FOR AN EXTRA $2.00! THIS IS SOLD AS A DECORATOR ONLY AND NOT SAFE TO SHOOT. IT IS SERIAL # 21278. THE SHOTGUN BARREL IS 32" LONG AND CHAMBERED FOR 12 GAUGE. THE BOLTS ON THE SLIDING BREECH ARE MODERN REPLACEMENTS AND THE LEVER ACTION SCREWS HAVE BEEN REPLACED WITH BRASS SCREWS. THE FIRING PIN ASSEMBLY IS MISSING. THE ACTION WORKS AND THE BARREL SLIDES FORWARD AND DOWN WHEN THE LEVER IS ACTUATED. AN INTERESTING WALL HANGER.
