Description:
Here’s a Winchester Model 1894 rifle attic find. The serial number, 18833, puts the manufacture date at 1895. The gun is chambered for .32-40, a hard to find caliber in this model Winchester, and is equipped with a 26” octagon barrel and buckhorn rear sight. The bore is dark with strong rifling. The wood is very good with no cracks but it does have a small chip at the top of the butt plate that can be clearly seen in the pictures. The finish on the receiver and barrel have faded to a brown patina. The exterior of the barrel is smooth while the receiver shows some surface rust.
