Description:
A scarce Whitney Kennedy Lever Action Rifle with only about 15,000 made ending in 1887. Mechanically excellent with a good shootable bore with some typical black powder pitting but strong rifling. Barrel is 20 inches and 44-40 caliber. This gun looks to be an old refinish but nicely done with some lightening to the markings on the tang. The barrel is 20 inches which means it was probably shortened many years ago for better handling as the octagon barrel is substantial. The wood shows an old hard to see repair at tang and the forend looks to have old repairs along the top sides. Whitney Kennedy's are hard to find and if this was all original would bring around $3000. It will make a good shooter or cowboy action gun. Please see the detailed pictures. Shipping is $40.
