Description:
Best quality H. J. Hussey Imperial Ejector 12 gauge shotgun in excellent condition original oak & leather trunk case and padded canvas snap cover with fine leather Hussey label and original shot charge label. This gun, SN# 14391, was built for Mr. Gardner Perry, a Ivy League-educated lawyer from Boston, Mass., and his initials are on top of case. I understand there is a sister gun still in the family, #14398, that is cased separately and makes a composite pair with this gun. Anyway, this gun #14391, is in great condition with excellent bores that are still in proof, 2 1/2" chambers, and on face and tight. Stock is well figured with no splits or cracks and is a semi- pistol grip and splinter forend configuration. Barrels were probably reblued long ago and retain 98% of that finish. Traces of case color in protected areas of frame, and all beautiful scroll engraving is still sharp and clean. Barrel measurements as follows; Right: diam. 9" ..734", wall 9" .060", min wall .026", choke .003". Left: diam. 9" .736", wall9" .060", min wall .027", choke .012". As you can see, barrels are still well within original proof. Hussey used the best London outworkers to build his guns as he excelled at stock fitting and had a top reputation for building winning pigeon guns. For example, his barrels were built by Frank Squires, who built barrels for Boss, among others. You can see the FS mark on these barrels ahead of the flats. This is a fine old gun in great shooting condition with modern dimensions that would make a wonderful quail or grouse gun. Call with any questions. Thanks for looking.
