This model, Verney-Carron's best offering before WW2, has highest quality 30" triple-proved chopper lump fluid steel barrels with factory 2 3/4"(70mm) chambers, sideclips with triple lockup including top extension similar to Webley Screw Grip, except the screw grip has a double bite on top extension and top of rear barrel lug. This is an extremely strong action. Southgate ejectors, all gold-plated lockwork in action and forend, hinged front trigger, beautifully engine-turned concave rib, superb relief scroll, vine and oak leaf engraving, and a highly figured French walnut straight grip stock with long guard tang to a leather-covered pad installed by Abe Chaber of Conn. Mr. Chaber, after working on this gun, stated that he felt it equal to any Big Four London shotgun he had seen in quality and workmanship, which is high praise from a man who has worked on the absolute best guns ever built.
