These custom rifles were in fact so great that prestigious companies such as Holland & Holland was forced to raise their quality just to compete with these American products, H.L. Grisel was a main driving force in this. Grisel, an american gunmaker from Bend Oregon, was tremendously skilled in the business of American custom rifles and was the designer behind Dakota Arms.
Listed here is a Winchester model 70 pre-64 in extaordinary condition which was custom built by the man himself, H.L. Grisel, in 1981.
This gun has a 22" Barrel with an absolute perfect bore and no open sights. Accompanying this is as follows:
- Checkered 3 panel bolt knob
- Guard bow release floorplate
- Fully engraved and gold inlayed by Koevenig that includes a Gold buck inlay and border.
- Trigger guard and metal pistol grip wwith gold initials
- Custom 24 L.P.I. Fluer De Lis checkering pattern which is very striking
- Streaked English walnut stock with fully checkered metal butt plate with trap door
- a perfectly formed shadow line cheek piece.
- a rare 99% original metal blue
- Wood finish has very few light handling marks.
- Nice Leupold 2.5x8 scope
