US Springfield Model 1884 Trapdoor 45-70 caliber Army rifle. Dark walnut stock with numerous dents and handling marks and a good SWP 1891 cartouche, also a rack/unit number on the left side. 32.5 inch barrel with a dark brown patina. Breach block marked US 1884 still has some case on the bottom side. Lock marked US Springfield and ffunctions fine. But plate is marked US with the trapdoor compartment with unit number. All metal parts have a dark brown patina. The gun appears original and complete with ramrod bayonet and a old leather sling.
