Description:
This Union Switch & Signal 1911A1 have a very interesting history. It was brought back from WWII by a B17 Airman. Like many at the time, he ground off the serial number and had the gun Nickle plated. Sounded good at the time. In later years another owner had the Nickle properly removed and replaced the frame with an Essex frame. Every other part is USS. It has a proper WWII magazine and the barrel may have been replaced at one time. In any case, this is as close to original that most people can get to owning a rare Union Switch & Signal WWII pistol from the war and it actually saw combat.
