Description:
Carbine verson of the famous Lebel 1886 rifle--the first military rifle to use smokeless powder and France's primary military rifle of the early part of the First World War. The M35 version resulted after the war when original 1886 Lebels were shortened for use by colonial troops and other second line units. The rifle under consideration is in excellent working condition. The tube magazine holds three cartridges and a fourth on the elevator. This is a fine example of a truly historic weapon.
