CARVED PERCUSSION CONVERSION Double Barrel Fowling Gun
Here we present an antique Double Barrel Percussion Conversion Side by Side Shotgun, made sometime in the early-19th Century. This double barrel would have started out life as a flintlock and converted sometime in the early to mid-1800 when the more reliable percussion system come into style.
The overall condition is very good. The action is strong. Both bores are in good shape and smooth. This example showcases robust checkering with mini tack designs on the wrist and fore end. The locks are lightly engraved. There is an initialed placard at the top of the wrist. The butt pad is a later addition. Here is a one-of-a-kind piece for collection and display!
