SOLD PENDING PAYMENT MARLIN COLLECTORS ( RARE FIND ) MARLIN MODEL 39 FIRST EDITION RIFLE. THIS IS A TRUE MODEL 39, This beautiful rifle sports a 24 inch OCTAGON BARREL with prominate rifling in barrel you can see clearly with bore light, some frosting in the last about 3 inch of barrel. Some Petina on outside metal. NO RUST OR PITTING. This rifle was ordered with the RARE TO FIND FOLD DOWN FRONT RING over the front sight. Manufactured between 1922 and 1925 according to the old MARLIN files when I spoke with them when they were still in business. According to the BLUE BOOK OF GUN VALUES Earlier guns without a Prefix or with "S" prefix are noted for their superior workmanship and fine finish. Book Ranges from $5,500 to $2400 this is a HARD RIFLE to find in this condition and with the special sight package. Metal on Barrel and Receiver is about 98% as far as marks or dings, Wooden Smooth stock is all original and only minor marks, NO Cracks, or Deep Marks, just normal field handeling. Excellent fit to metal and HAS NOT BEEN SANDED OR REFINISHED. A 4-Diget Serial Number 60XX NO PREFIX. This fine old MARLIN is truly in excellent condition for its age.
