The pre-64 action is widely regarded as the ultimate starting point for a custom rifle build. Presented here is a an extremely fine example of a custom Model 70 Featherweight rifle by master stockmaker Al Lofgren. Mr. Lofgren is known for his exemplary custom work and was associated with the Dallas Safari Club an international non-profit education, conservation and hunter advocacy organization based in Dallas, Texas. The original featherweight barrel has a ramped blade front with hood, a fixed express rear leaf sight and has Talley mounts installed for the scope of your choice. Chambered in the venerable .30-06, the action is fitted to a beautiful Bastogne walnut stock displaying stunning fiddleback grain, a stock with shadow line cheek rest and Fleur-de-lis motifs at the wrist. The underside of the rifle displays Mr. Lofgren's extraordinary detailing work with custom fitted bottom plate, steel grip cap, perfect bluing and vivid nitre blue screws adding the final flourish. Featuring a 14 1/8" LOP with a soft rubber Decelorator buttpad, a trigger pull of 2.7lbs, this rifle feels and balances like the thoroughbred it was built to be.
