Description:
Greener's best gun, an honest-to-goodness FH60 Royal, made in 1902 by his best craftsmen. This is a 30" ejector gun (unusually with Baker coil spring ejectors, still in time!) with heavy nitro proofed Whitworth steel barrels originally chambered 2 3/4" 1 1/4 oz and so proofed. Choked R 738/722 L 740/690. Bores are mirror bright and ribs are sound. Fully engraved arcaded Facile Princeps action recently serviced with scalloped back, gold washed internals, intercepting sears. Purdey forend latch. This gun has been shot as evidenced by an old wedge rejoint (tight), older replacement buttstock (gold oval transplanted), and the mid bead has been removed and the hold plugged. There is some pitting on the action, thankfully sparing most of the beautiful game scenes, and also on the right barrel .. the rest of the barrel blacking is very nice so we suggest living with this until the barrels need a reblack. 7lb gun, LOP 14 1/2", drops 1 1/2" and 3", cast off 1/8" barely.
