EARLY WW2 GERMAN MAUSER K98K AX/40 (RARE ERMA CODE) 8X57MM INFANTRY CARBINE CIRCA 1940. All original and matching except bolt and floor plate which is close in number. Stock, hand guard and butt plate matching serial number of gun as well. Erma/Erfurt production 1940 date Invasion of France era K98K. Very good plus overall with light battle wear with original blue Excellent wood with the original matching finish and excellent Nazi Ordnance stamps on right side of stock and in sling mortice. . Receiver with three good Nazi Ordnance Waffenampts on right side as well as three at the top breech of barrel. Receiver stamped “AX/40”. Ordnance Eagle stamps on left side of barrel and receiver removed in the post war era. Working order and very good bore that will clean even better. Rare Erma made briefly used code before they made Mp40 Machine pistols.
