Double Set Triggers & Canine Engraving!
Here we present an antique engraved Deane & Son Percussion Sporting Rifle made circa 1890. This specimen is a medium barreled rifle in .32 caliber. Octagonal barrel with double set triggers and an interesting pistol grip stock. It would have also been used to put food on the table or defend the homestead against unwanted intruders!
The lock has “GOLCHER” marked. “MADE BY COCHRAN & RAISON 1890” is engraved atop the barrel.
The overall condition is good. The action is functional. There is functionally only one cock notch and the hammer holds firmly there and drops just fine. The bore remains in good shape with nice rifling. Here is a fantastic American long rifle to collect and display!
