Description:
SOLD...Excellent and Rare antique Colt 1877 Double Action Sheriffs Model revolver with a 4 1/2” barrel and it's original and very fancy maker marked belt with holster.. Factory letter is included and all is correct. S/N 41915 and all matching of course..with 519 on the rear of the cylinder.. MFG in 1883.. Was shipped to the famous Simmons Hardware, St. Louis Missouri 1883. This is an excellent example of the Colt's 1877 D.A revolver. It is very hard to find these longer barreled Sheriff's Models with no ejector housing. The barrel is the standard 4 1/2” but made with no ejector.. Any Colt 1877 made with up to the 3 1/2” barrels did not have the ejectors and usually anything over the 3 1/2” had ejectors. The gun is in excellent mechanical condition with lots of the factory nickel plating remaining. The barrel has 90% nickel with excellent etched panel caliber markings as you can see.. Untouched front sight.. The cylinder has about 75% and the frame has about 65%.. The trigger guard has 95%.. All original finish with some flaking here and there as you can see. The back of the hammer has about 50% bright blue. The back of the trigger also has some nice blue.. The screw heads on the butt and the trigger guard have most of the fine bright fire blue remaining also. There are some minor dings on the rear hump of the back strap as you can see.. No other dings or rough spots.. The excellent original long knurled cylinder pin has all the very fine checkering with no tool marks..No pitting on the gun at all..Excellent barrel address and other markings on the side trigger guard and frame. Excellent grips with no cracks or chips and a perfect factory fit.. Still show all of the very fine checkering with very little wear.. The mechanics are excellent in both DA and SA.. Perfect indexing and locks up crisp and tight as a new gun.. The bore is near excellent with very strong rifling with just some minor frosting.. No pitting or bad spots.. The cylinder chambers are excellent bright and shiny.. The belt and holster rig are matching and in near excellent condition also.. The holster is pig or calf skin lined and very detailed design.. The belt only is maker marked and is marked on the back ANTONIO TREVINO MONTEREY, MEXICO.. It is for .38 caliber and measures 36” long from the buckle to the end of the billet. I have the holster listed by itself with more details as I wanted to use all the 15 photos for the gun and have more photo room for the holster.. The price listed here is for both the gun and the belt rig. Very reasonable priced and a great looking set.. I do not know what it would cost to make this belt and holster today but I bet it would not be cheap !!!! The item number for the belt and holster is 101652533..  Call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more pphotos. $30 insured shipping. Thank you for looking and check back often as I am starting to list quality items from a large collection soon.
