Description:
SOLD...REDUCED PRICE...Excellent Colt 1877 DA “Lightning”.. Here is an outstanding Colt 1877 DA “Lightning”.. .38 Long Colt caliber of course. Best one I have ever owned and right out of my personal collection. Factory letter is included and all is correct.. The knurling on the cylinder pin looks different from the others I have and not sure if it is correct factory part or not.. It is tight as new and functions perfectly.. I got it this way and have never messed with it.. I am quite sure if you think it is not correct, you can find one out there somewhere.. Anyway, as you can see, this gun is a whopper..!!! Has the standard 3 1/2” barrel. S/N 106564 and made in 1898 so it is antique and no FFL needed.... All matching numbers of course with 564 on the rear of the cylinder. Shipped January 1898 to C.W. Hackett Hardware Co. St. Paul Minnesota.. Beautiful factory finish remains all over this fine little gun. The barrel has about 80% bright deep blue. Has some light dings on the bottom as you can see in the photo.. They are not deep into the metal at all.. You can barely even feel them with your finger nail and just mostly into the finish....That photo turned out a little blurry but I can send better photos if you need them of course.. or I can swap it out with a better one later.. The cylinder has 98% of the bright deep blue down in the flutes as you can see.. The balance of the cylinder has about 40% thinning blue.. The frame has excellent bright and vivid case colors.. Over all I would say the frame has about 80% or more case colors.. The sighting grove on top has all the bright case colors intact down in the bottom... Just fantastic vivid case colors on this fine Colt.. All the fire blue is intact on the rear of the hammer and trigger. The back strap has about 60% blue on top at the rear of the hammer and has thinned out to gray towards the back from handling... The front grip strap has 50% slightly thinning blue. The trigger guard area has 90% bright deep blue. Bright fire blue remains on all the screw heads on the bottom of the gun. All the screw head slots are near perfect and show no tool marks or burring from tinkering.. The hammer screw shows very light turning. This gun has never been cleaned on or messed with.. The grips are mint showing hardly any wear what so ever and show all their fine checkering and rich luster.. No cracks or chips and a perfect snap on factory fit.. The action is excellent.. Crisp and tight as a new gun in both DA and SA mode. Hammer notches are excellent and positive.. The bore is mint as expected and still shows factory blue inside.. The cylinder chambers are mint as well and they show most all the bright blue inside.... Just a few small flakes here and there.. I don't think this gun has been fired more than 100 times !!!!!. Full front sight never filed on or messed with.. All the markings are very crisp. This is a great Colt 1877 that show very little signs of actually being fired and probably just carried more than anything.. and probably not much of that either.. It is not mint in the box of course but miles above the average ones you find out there. If it had a bit more blue on the cylinder and a little more case colors it would be in the higher price range... I think I have it price very fairly from what I see on the market today.. Please call 765-728-8049 with any questions or more photos.. I would be more than happy as I want you to know exactly what you are buying and be perfectly happy with your investment purchase. $30 insured shipping.. Thank you for looking and check back often for more great condition antique firearms.
