Offered for sale is a really decent WINCHESTER 1887 Lever action 12ga. shotgun that was made in the first year 1887. Serial #40xx. WRA CO on the left side of frame. Original finish with nice original wood that is full - no cracks in the wrist or anything detracting- just honest wear. Action is very smooth and tight. 30inch original DAMASCUS Barrel that according to Madis book is a special order option that was an additional $15 in 1887. Fairly rare as such. Nice original patina shotgun with traces of original case color in protected areas, especially on opening the lever. The balance nickeling out and nice. Better than average condition - especially for a first year gun. Only a little over 60,000 of these ever made and pretty scarce of it's own right. There is one very tiny ding on the barrel about 2/3 up that does not really detract from the gun- but there none the less and mentioned for accuracy. Priced to sell at $1600.
