#K2872, A Full Blown Classic Custom by K. P. (Kip) Wood and Engraved by Rex Pedersen, 30-06, This is a Superb and Extremely Well Done Custom Rifle, It has a Mauser 1909 Argentine Action, The receiver bridge is built up into a single square bridge with an integral dovetail for the scope ring, 22" barrel, 1/4 rib that extends over the receiver ring with a cut dovetail for the front scope ring, 1 standing rear sight, Band front ramp with a sight protector, A very well done single square bridge, A built-up and checkered bolt stop release A fully adjustable Timney trigger, 3 position wing safety, 2 panel teardrop bolt knob checkering, Blackburn bottom metal with a straddle hinged floorplate with a center bow release, Quick detachable lever release 1" scope rings, 1.5 x 5 Leupold scope, 8 lbs. 3 oz. as an open sight rifle and 9 lbs with the Leupold, 13 7/8" LOP over a 1" pad, A very accurate and pure classic stock by Kip Wood using an excellent piece of English Walnut, Full wrap around point pattern checkering, Jerry Fisher grip cap, Ebony forend tip, 2 screw sling eyes mounted on the stock, Very accurately engraved by Firearms Engravers Guild of America member Mr. Rex Pedersen and signed both with his mark and FEGA, The bolt handle, floorplate, grip cap, receiver, quarter rib, scope rings and trigger guard are all engraved in a very neat floral pattern, This gun is virtually new in every respect, The blue overall remains at 100%, The stock finish is at 99%, The checkering is 100%, The bore is new. This is flat out one genuinely nice custom rifle with excellent workmanship, style, function, superb inletting and then topped off with perfectly accurate engraving.
Kip Wood was at Central Michigan Gunsmithing in Mount Pleasant, Mich. and certainly knew right from wrong as this rifle is all detail from muzzle to butt. Rex Pedersen has Master status from the Firearms Engravers Guild of America. He has received the Smith & Wesson "Masterpiece Award" for the finest engraved Smith & Wesson handgun, also the Beretta "Award of Distinction". He has been held many offices in FEGA including President. His work has appeared in Guns magazine, Shooters Bible, Modern Custom Guns, Custom Firearms Engraving as well as other publications. He recently engraved the #16 ACGG Guild rifle, "The Whitetail, a tribute". For the last 14 years he has engraved the Goodyear Gold Car Award for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion.
