Description:
This BAR has the LW receiver, was made in Belgium and assembled in Portugal.  Chambered in .270 Winchester.  Hand engraved by H.V. Grant, a master engraver who operated out of Elgin, IL, now deceased.  Looking this over, one can only imagine the number of man hours it took to create this masterpiece.  Generous scroll engraving surrounds several bears hunting salmon on a river on the right side, and a mountain lion attacking a bull elk on the left side.  The detail in unbelievable.  With just a little research, this is the trademark of Mr. Grant.  Prodigious detail in each scene.  Lots of scroll and cross hatching cover the top of the reciever, extending forward tapering onto the barrel and also at the muzzle on each side of the front sight.  The gun looks virtually new with little to no finish wear to the metal.  The are some very small dents here and there scattered on the stock and fore end, not more than a half dozen or so.  The appearance of the bolt tells me it has been shot, but not much and who knows if it was shot before or after it was engraved.  Gun does come with the original cardboard box (rather dusty), styrofoam (missing center piece) and manual.  $75 shipping to the lower 48 and 3% surcharge for using a CC.  We recommend this item be shipped in a hard case.  $20.  In order to protect your investment, all long guns over $500 must be shipped in a hard case.  Minimum shipping at this level is $55 and includes the hard case.  Shipping cost could increase depending on value or weight of the firearm.  For long guns less than $500, we still recommend the purchase of a hard case, again to protect your investment.  These numbers are for shipping to the lower 48.  There is also a 3% surcharge for customers using a credit card on internet sales.  Thank you!
